What a narcissistic, cruel, selfish, masochistic, self-centered, egotistical God we serve. Imagine creating all of this sin and making us live in it. Oh sure, it all started with Adam. How dare God make Adam sin so that He could throw him and his wife out of the garden. All throughout history, God has been an embarrassment to us Christians. Who in their right mind would kill their own "Son". Seriously? From hurricanes to floods to a virus pandemic, God seems to take joy in watching people suffer. I can't believe He is such a cruel God.
Do you feel that way? As I listened to a radio station today that I never listen to, a "pastor" called in and said he was "mad at God". On its surface, this seems harmless enough. Then a woman calls in and says, "we got your back, pastor". We got your back? In other words, we are mad at Him as well. Then it hit me like a ton of bricks. When things are good, it is because of us. When things are bad, it is because of God.
2 Thessalonians 2:3 says, "Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition" Did you catch that? He said "a great falling away" before the end. Every where you turn, you hear preachers speaking of a great revival before the end. I don't read that here. So it really got me thinking. What can cause such a "great falling away"? When we become so entrenched in our belief that God is not God but He is Santa Claus, we continue to look for Santa Claus when the trials come; and they will come. John 16:33 says, "These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world. "I HAVE OVERCOME THE WORLD".
When you are five and your mother takes you to the doctor for a shot because you are sick, she is the Antichrist. Can you believe she wants to be so cruel as to want to have a complete stranger stick a metal object into your little skin? When you are five you do not understand that if you do not get that shot, you could become really sick and perhaps die. When a "pastor", who should understand all of this calls a radio station to express what he should be expressing in his closet to God, that makes it more excusable to the woman who "got your back, pastor".
This is the same God that created the universe. Maybe that is too much for this pastor to think about. Maybe he didn't remember that every star he sees at night, God created; the same one he is angry with. Angry at what? Angry that this life is but a vapor and we shouldn't really putting down roots here anyway? Ask Lot's wife how that turned out. Blaming God for a virus is ridiculous. A virus is like any other bad thing. It is evidence of a fallen world. We would recognize how fallen it is if we could step back in the eyes of God and see it from His perspective. How do you do that? By reading His written Word. On the timeline of eternity, this life does not even show up. A pastor, a lady calling a radio show, you, or me, should not call out the God of the universe as if He is someone to chastise. We are the five year old that does not understand the shot. God is the Antichrist in that situation and we want help from, well, help from whomever would help; since God is obviously a narcissistic, cruel, selfish, masochistic, self-centered, egotistical maniac.
I will tell you how much God loves you. He came here in the form of His Son and did that for not just 33 years, Jesus became a man forever. For what? So we could curse Him out and tell Him what a terrible job He is doing? His timing is perfect. God is a loving, caring, and thoughtful God. DO NOT be angry with Him. If you must be angry with Him, take it to Him; not a radio station for piling on. It is easy to find people who will agree with you; or "got your back".
