I cannot believe the persecution that we are under here in America. The government is trying to suppress our right to worship. We should be able to worship in large groups, although the emergency laws put in place say otherwise. If we all wish to contract this virus, then let it be so. We can die if we choose to for the faith of God! Who cares if we give it to someone outside of our congregation. They should have been in church anyway!
Seriously? When Jesus said we will have tribulation, I can assure you He was not referring to having to sit out church for a few weeks. After all, wasn't the original church held in people's homes anyway? I know, I know, it is hard to pass the plate and put guilt on folks so they will fill said plate when they are home, but I digress.
Romans 13:1-2 says, "Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God. Whosoever therefore resisteth the power, resisteth the ordinance of God: and they that resist shall receive to themselves damnation."
Do you think He was kidding when He had Paul write this? Its akin to going to the grocery store and right in front of the store, IN THE FIRE LANE, someone is parked. I guess it means "no parking" except for me, eh? Paul said that GOD put the government there. If you have a problem with it, take it up with God. What you are doing is setting a terrible example for the world to see. We all want to have a church service, hug our neighbor, lay on the beach, eat at a Mexican restaurant, etc. Unfortunately, our job is not to challenge the laws, but to follow them.
What about abortion? Glad you asked. Daniel followed the rules of Babylon and the Medo-Persian Empire without grandstanding. Grandstanding makes you look small and gives Jesus a black eye. Daniel did NOT worship something other than God, although the government told him to. Public safety is completely different from saving a life. This is why police, paramedics, and so forth are considered necessary, while worshiping God in a building designated "church" is not. Daniel worshiped in the privacy of his own home as he had always done. If you are a parent and complain of no praying in school, ask yourself, have I prayed with my child at home? If there was prayer in school, do I know who is leading it? The worship we do in church on Sunday should simply be an extension of the worship we do at home; not just on Sunday.
Stop making your congregation, and yourselves for that matter, look stupid. Follow the rules and we will be able to get back to regular worship soon. Then? You can go back to bilking your flock so you can go to Cancun or get that new car. I can say that because the pastors and leaders that truly understand God's Word do not grandstand their Biblical prowess; it isn't necessary.
Follow Jesus, not a grandstanding, show boating, self proclaimed prophet. It just may be that this "prophet" may really be into it for the "profit, see" and not the "prophesy".
